Chicago Filmmaker
Sam is a Mexican American filmmaker with a focus on real and emotional stories, particularly told through documentary. She hopes to grow in that field, expanding her work to matters of social and political importance, especially in relation to women’s rights.
La Presidenta (2024)
“La Presidenta” is a one shot short film centering on Mexican American immigrant culture and the historic presidential win of Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo in Mexico. The film also explores themes of motherhood and the importance of women’s contributions to familial and societal structures.
Experience
With her production classes at UChicago, CUNY CSI, and NYU, Sam uses this foundational knowledge to write and direct her own short films. She has made films in Paris, New York, and Chicago, most of which she writes and directs herself.

Sam has experience working with the Adobe Suite and Canva to create magazine layouts, flyers, and graphics.
With Adobe Premiere Pro & After Effects, Sam has edited video for short films, marketing reels, and music videos.
